The freedom of information act requires government agencies to make all public records, including inmate information, available to citizens. However, some information, for instance, data on juvenile inmates under 18, cannot be accessed. To get such data, one must visit the department of juvenile justice. Note that only suitable people, including the inmate’s parents, guardians, and lawyers having the lawful green light, would get the information.

The first step in performing an inmate search is entering the inmate’s name on the questionnaire provided on the search website. To get more efficient results, one may add extra specifying details like the inmate’s age, gender, and race. Upon entering the above details, a list of all inmates bearing similar initials would appear. From there, one can pick their offender from the pictures generated.
Searching by Case Number or GDC ID
A case number is a figure that the judicial system gives to a case presented to them. Each case has its number, even if a case may look similar to another. On the other hand, a Georgia Department of Corrections identification number is like an admission number that an individual gets upon imprisonment within Georgia state. Both of these figures cannot be shared among multiple offenders. Therefore, when one uses them to conduct an inmate search, one would get specific results. This fact makes it the most appropriate method of finding an inmate.

Moreover, the division is charged with the management of IT infrastructure and the provision of courtroom security. Furthermore, the administrative division serves criminal warrants and civil processes.
The administrative support unit comprises the civil process team, accreditation, the business office, court security unit, community service team, judicial sales team, records, and training section.
Patrol Division
The uniform patrol division comprises a captain, four shift commanders with the position of lieutenant, and 32 deputies who work in the four shifts. This division is the largest and the main unit of the sheriff’s department since it plays the department’s major role. One of the responsibilities of the patrol division is responding to the citizen’s calls for service, which is fairly the most challenging function as deputies are required to deal with administrative to life-threatening ordeals, all perhaps in one shift. Moreover, the division is charged with the maintenance of public order. Fortunately, this role is not often required. However, the deputies must be prepared for demonstrations and public events where their services would be required. When a public or private disaster occurs, the patrol division is the first line of call. Officers receiving the call must provide public safety, medical, or investigative assistance to victims before handing them over to the appropriate profession, for instance, the investigative unit.
