County Inmate Search

Finding Inmates using the State Offender Locator

The freedom of information act requires all government facilities to make public information available to citizens. This directive suggests that detention facilities must release inmate information to the public. However, not all pieces of information can be accessed by the public. Some data, for instance, information on juvenile inmates, can only be accessed by suitable people, including the inmate’s parents, guardians, and attorneys. In situations where inmates have pending court cases, law enhancement officers assigned to the case can access the data.

To find an inmate within Georgia state, the department of corrections requires one to visit their official website and look for their inmate on the prisoner locator page. Moreover, one can contact them at 404-656-4661 or visit their offices at 300 Patrol Road, Forsyth, 31029, Georgia. The first step in performing an inmate search is entering the inmate’s name on the questionnaire provided on the search web. One can also add extra specifying details like the offender’s age, race, gender, and date of birth to get faster results. Upon entering the name, a list of all inmates bearing the same initials would appear. From there, one would pick their offender from the pictures generated.

Searching by Case Number or GDC ID

A case number is a figure that the court gives to a case presented before them. On the other hand, a Georgia Department of Corrections identification number is a figure that an offender gets upon admission to a detention facility in Georgia state. Similar to the GDC ID, this number cannot be shared among multiple offenders. Therefore, using one of the above numbers to conduct an inmate search is the most appropriate way since they would generate specific results.

Finding an Inmate in a County jail

As of 2022, most detention facilities have placed information on their current inmates on their websites. To get details of an inmate held in Terrel County jail, one must visit the prison’s website and conduct an inmate search. Moreover, they can contact the prison directly using the number on their search web. Apart from that, an interested individual can perform an inmate search through the sheriff’s office, especially when looking for comprehensive details on sex offenders.
