Taliaferro County is situated in Georgia State, US, adjacent to Warren, Wilkes, Hancock, and Greene counties. After a Georgia state assembly meeting on 25th December 1825, the Georgia legislatures decided to create the county by taking portions of its neighboring counties. It got its name from Colonel Benjamin Taliaferro of Virginia, an officer who led the American revolutionary war. As per the 2020 Census, the county has a population of 1559, recording a deceleration compared to 1717 people recorded in the 2010 census. This data makes it the least populated county in Georgia.
The US Census Bureau states that Taliaferro County covers a space of 195 square miles (510 square kilometers), with most of this area covered by land and only 0.4 percent of it (1.8 square kilometers) covered by water bodies, including tributaries of Ogeechee and other little rivers. It has its county headquarters in Crawfordville.
County Inmate Search
The freedom of information act directs all public affiliations to make public information, for example, inmate details, available to citizens at all times. Note that data on juvenile offenders under 18 years of age cannot be accessed by everyone but only by suitable people. These people include the inmate’s family, victims, and attorneys. In cases where the offender has legal issues like a pending court hearing, some law enhancement officers assigned to the case have access to the prisoner’s details.
Nearly all detention departments have put their information on their profiles found on the jail inmate roster for the regular inmates. To access information on an offender within Georgia state, the department of corrections asks interested individuals to contact them at 404-656-4661 or visit them at their offices found along 300 patrol Road, Forsyth, Georgia. Alternatively, one can visit the state offender locator website.
Finding an Inmate in a County Detention Facility
As of 2022, there is an inmate roster in various county correctional facilities, for instance, the Taliaferro County jail website, which provides a list of all inmates currently held at the facility. On the inmate profile, one can find their data comprising the inmate’s name, date of birth, race, addresses, booking dates, charges, and the court role, among other details. Apart from the website, one can get inmate information by calling Taliaferro County jail using the number on the prison website. Moreover, the department has an app available on Google play store and apple store, which provides details on inmates in the facility. Furthermore, one can look for an inmate from the Taliaferro County sheriff’s office, as it manages all county correctional facilities.
Performing an Inmate Search
An interested individual can perform an inmate search using the following details.
- Inmate’same
- Case number
- Georgia department of corrections identification number (GDC ID)
To find an inmate using their names, one must enter the prisoner’s name on the questionnaire provided on the inmate search website. One may start with the first or last name. Upon entering either name, a list of inmates bearing the same initials will appear. From there, one can pick the offender from the pictures provided. Moreover, one can add extra details like the offender’s gender, race, and date of birth to get faster and more efficient search results.
Searching by Case Number or GDC ID
A case number is a figure that the judicial system assigns to a case. In contrast, a GDC ID is a number that all incarcerated individuals in Georgia state get upon imprisonment. Both of these numbers cannot be shared among multiple inmates. Therefore, using them to perform an inmate search would generate specific results.
