The County is located on the central western border of the U.S state of Georgia, and the Chattahoochee River forms its western border with the state of Alabama. Muscogee County was founded on 9 June 1826 and was named after the Muscogee people. Its only city is Columbus which is also the county seat. Uniform Patrol Bureau

The Intelligence bureau is in charge of offering investigative and fugitive apprehension services for Muscogee County.
