County Inmate Search

As of 2022, each county jail in Jones County has an inmate search section on their official website where interested individuals can access data on their inmates detained in their facility. This privilege comes after the freedom of information act, which states that all public affiliations must make public information available to citizens at any time. Most county jails also have apps that one can download at the Google play store and apple store. These apps help citizens receive information on inmates serving their time in various correctional facilities. Moreover, most county detention facilities put their contacts on their websites, enabling the residents to reach them for information concerning incarcerated individuals.

Performing an Inmate Search using the GDC Website

Interested individuals can locate inmates by logging into the official website of the Georgia department of corrections. This method often helps when an individual is under the custody of a state correctional facility. The Georgia department of corrections inmate lookup tool contains a list of all offenders imprisoned within Georgia, including those from other states. One would need specific details of the incarcerated individual to locate an inmate, including their full name and national identification number. On the website, one may start with either the first or last name of the inmate on the spaces they would get on the inmate search page. Upon entering the name, they would get a list of all inmates sharing the same initials as their incarcerated individual. From here, one can just pick their offender by looking at the pictures generated from feeding the initials to the website. Moreover, one can add other specifying details like the inmate’s race, age, and gender for efficiency in the search.

Searching by Case Number or ID

Apart from using the inmate’s name on the search, one can still use the inmate’s Georgia Department of Corrections identification Number (GDC ID). This number is a unique figure that an offender gets upon admission to a correctional institute under the Georgia department of corrections. Once an individual enters the number, the website generates specific results concerning the bearer of the GDC ID. Alternatively, an individual can use a case number, a figure the court assigns to a specific case presented before them. Similar to the GDC ID, entering a case number would generate specific results for the bearer of the number.
