Jefferson County Inmate Search
The freedom of information act requires government agencies to make public records like offender information (except for juveniles under the age of 18) available to the public at all times. Therefore, the Georgia state department of corrections came up with inmate rosters that help the public locate their offender in one of the several county and state detention facilities. One can log into the Georgia state department of corrections website inmate search section to find out where the offender is serving their time. On this database, one can look for an inmate by entering their names, identification numbers, age, or any other specifying details that can help one locate their individual. Alternatively, one can visit the department of corrections office at 7 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, 30334, Atlanta, Georgia. The staff would help you find an inmate, especially those imprisoned in state detention facilities. Moreover, an interested individual can contact the Georgia department of corrections at 404-656-4661 for more details and directions.
The Inmate Search Process
If you want to find an inmate, the inmate lookup tool would require you to enter the offender’s last name on the spaces one finds on the website. A list of individuals who share the same name would appear upon entering the name. Alternatively, one can start with the inmate’s first name. From there, an individual can add more details like race and gender to easily get their inmate.
Searching by Id or Case Number
Once an inmate falls under the custody of the Georgia department of corrections, they get a GDC ID, a unique number similar to an admission number. This is the best search method as it provides one with the bearer of the identification number. A case number is one that is specified for a particular type of offense. This number comes from the fact that all state judicial systems have specific case numbers for various cases. Similar to the GDC number, a case number is equally accurate as it gives results based on the individual’s case.
