Habersham County is a county situated in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The county was founded on December 15, 1817, and named after Colonel Joseph Habersham of the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War. Habersham County is part of the larger Cornelia metropolitan statistical area. Clarkesville is the county seat and the neighboring counties include Rabun County, Oconee County, Stephens County, Banks County, Hall County, White County, and Towns County.
As per the 2020 United States Census, the total number of people in this county is 46031, with 15139 households and 10440. On the other hand, the Habersham County racial composition includes 75.37% White, 3.74% African American, 0.18% Native American, 2.15% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 3.53% mixed raves, and 14.95% Latino.
Moreover, Habersham County has a total area of 279 square miles (720km), where land occupies 277 square miles (720km) while water takes 2.3 square miles (6.0km) (0.8%). In addition, the county is situated within the Blue Ridge Mountains, a part of the Appalachian Mountains.
