The Floyd County Administration Building in Rome, which also serves as the county seat, serves as the home of the county government. The Floyd County MSA is part of the Rome, Georgia, metro region.

Floyd County Sheriff’s Office

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is the County’s Chief Constitutional Law Enforcement Officer and is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all residents. The sheriff operates under oath to preserve and defend their rights and liberties as provided by the United States of America Constitution and attend to the community concerns under their jurisdiction.

FCSO is located at 2526 New Calhoun Highway Northeast, Rome, Georgia 30161, United States, and operates under Sheriff Dave Roberson’s administration. It has 162 personnel committed to serving the citizens, is nationally accredited, and always works to provide services responsibly and professionally.

FCSO responsibilities include:

  • Providing safety and security for court proceedings.
  • Maintaining order in the jail.
  • Delivering arrest warrants and other legal documents to the court system.

The office also engages with the community and is proactive with the youth and the elderly. Furthermore, it believes it must collaborate with the community and other agencies to solve current issues, including crime, drugs, mental health, and natural calamities, to protect everybody.

The office is still dedicated to fostering connections, decreasing recidivism, hiring and maintaining qualified personnel, and ensuring the county is always economically prudent regarding receipts and outlays.

PAYS Program

FCSO offers application forms for PAYS (Partnership for Your Success) programs. This is a forum for recruiting future army soldiers. The office provides early training programs and integrates individuals into the Army Reserves and National Guard.

Offender Watch Program

This program offers the first sex offender registry management solution that uses an offender’s home, workplace, or school address to create alerts across jurisdictions, further encouraging agency collaboration on a single offender record. You can contact the office if you have concerns about the sex offender registry.

You can also see the steps the office takes to comply with the law, and on the Safety Tips page, you can see information on Community Awareness Fliers. You can also print fliers from the page and distribute them to your club, school, library, or other organization for public awareness.

Floyd County Inmate Search

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office maintains the Floyd County Jail, which was constructed in 1982 and refurbished in 1996. Floyd County jail serves as the county’s terminal point for all inmates charged with violations of Georgia state, county, and federal laws. This is because inmates who cannot pay or are denied bail by the court must be transferred to this jail until their cases are completed. This 714-bed facility has an average of 507 inmates daily.

As such is the case, when you want to locate any inmate incarcerated in Floyd County, the jail’s inmate search database is the perfect place to start. This is because the facility maintains all records of offenders under its care. Furthermore, it also incarcerates individuals with a sentence period of less than a year. It also offers a reentry program for state prisoners.

You can perform a Floyd Inmate Search by the offender’s name using the tool available on the FCSO website. You can view the inmate’s personal information, arrest, criminal, and court records on the database.

This database is also accessible through third-party websites. However, you must be aware that the information provided by these websites may differ from the actual ones on the FCSO website. In addition, some of these websites may charge processing fees.

How to find an inmate, not on the Floyd County inmate search database

If you can locate an inmate via the inmate search tool, you can always call the jail administration at (256) 280 2835. Through this mode, you have to provide as much information as possible about the inmate to ensure that the administration gives back the correct records of the inmate matching your description.

You can ask them to mail you the records for your confirmation, or you can pick them up at the jail, but at a processing cost. You can also visit the facility to inquire about the whereabouts of the inmate you seek to find.

Finally, you can visit the GA statewide inmate search database if you cannot find them using the above methods.

Sex Offender Search

FCSO maintains the Floyd County OffenderWatch website as a public service. You can visit the website available at the sheriff’s website to learn more about registered sex offenders if the inmate you seek is or was a sex offender.
