Dawson County Inmate Search

The Dawson County Detention Center was established in 1881, but since it has undergone demolitions and upgrades, it can currently detain up to 192 convicts. The highest percentage of the inmates in the jail are awaiting trial, meaning they are either unable to pay bail or are denied bail by the court.

The jail is the primary custody of all inmates in the county, no matter the charges. It accepts all inmates charged with state, federal, and county law violations. In addition, all individuals that cannot pay bail arrested by the local police departments are brought to the facility. Here, they can stay until their case hearing is over, and they can be sentenced to the federal state of other county prisons.

This means that the detention center must establish records of all these inmates to keep track of them in their custody. The jail keeps, maintains, and updates a Dawson County Jail Roster. On the roster, there are the names of all the inmates in custody.

How to find an inmate in Dawson County
