Calhoun County is in the southwestern part of the United States state of Georgia. The County was formed in 1854 from portions of Early and Baker Counties. It was named after John C. Calhoun, the United States vice president under Presidents John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson. Calhoun County comprises four incorporated cities, including Morgan, Leary, Edison, and Arlington. Morgan, incorporated in 1856, is the county seat. It has 5573 people and covers 280 square miles.
This County is home to the best fishing and hunting in the country. Artesian wells and plenty of water make Calhoun County a natural and ideal choice to raise a family and for a perfect retirement location.
