Bartow County is in the northwestern portion of the United States state of Georgia. The county seat is Cartersville. It was created on December 3, 1852, from Cherokee County. The County was originally named Cass County until 1861, when it was renamed Bartow County after Colonel Francis S. Bartow, the first Georgia officer to fall on the field at Manassas, Virginia.  

As of the 2020 US census, Bartow County had a population of 10890, a rise from the 2010 population of 100157. It has a total area of 471 square miles, including 460 square miles as land and 11 square miles as water.  

This County is beautifully nestled in the rolling foothills of the magnificent Appalachian Mountains. It offers an abundance of historical treasures and natural beauty. Bartow County is a host to several award-winning museums and historical landmarks, such as the George Washington Carver Park and the Etowah Indian Mounds.

Sheriff Clark Millsap is the current Sheriff of Bartow County. This full-service law enforcement agency consists of four divisions: the Patrol Division, Jail Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Court/Warrant Division.  

Uniform Patrol Division 

The Uniform Patrol Division is the most popular and visible unit of the Sheriff’s Office since it often makes the first contact with the Bartow County residents. The Division is responsible for offering essential line functions for the Office.
